03/11/2019 Electrician Under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor, the qualified candidate must possess knowledge of industrial/commercial electrical circuitry and control systems, be able to read and follow schematics, comprehend wiring diagrams and prints and be familiar with approved methods. 02/27/2019 Executive Director The Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties is seeking an Executive Director with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Management or a closely related field along with at least five (5) years of progressively, responsible leadership experience in wastewater or water utility management, municipal authority management or local government management, with preference in the public sector dealing with a Public Works Department, Engineering Department or Water and Sewerage Department. The ideal candidate should have considerable knowledge and experience of modern policies and practices of public administration; a demonstrated knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations; and experience in coordinating and administrating a multi-million budget in a public sector. Effective verbal and written communications skills, including a high level of proficiency with social media platforms, are a must. 02/21/2019 Site Services Worker Performs general janitorial/custodial, laborer, landscaping, grounds keeping, carpentry and masonry duties requiring skill in the use of power tools, such as, but not limited to: saws, drills, routers, planes & sanders. Must possess and maintain a valid N.J. driver's license, and be able to operate heavy equipment, such as, but not limited to: backhoe, loadlugger, tractor, trucks and other standard shift vehicles. Must be physically able to perform work activities that require constant heavy lifting, bending, pulling, stretching, carrying, walking, etc. in an environment that may be dusty, dirty, or pollen-laden, with extremes of temperature. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 0630 hours to 1500 hours. Some overtime and on-call hours are required. Qualifications • High School degree or equivalency required • Trade School degree required • Vocational courses in carpentry and masonry preferred • Five (5) years of work experience in carpentry and masonry work required • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. 02/21/2019 Project Manager Under the direction of the Superintendent, responsible for the overseeing and monitoring of all assigned projects at the wastewater treatment plant and collection system including but not limited to, start­up of new equipment, coordination of new construction projects, optimization and modification and/or rehabilitation of existing facilities; assisting the Superintendent with interpretation of various technical aspects of federal, state & local regulations which pertain to the wastewater treatment field, and the review of technical documents such as, but not limited to, construction documents and permits. Additional work hours may be required without additional compensation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental engineering or related field and at least 5 years experience in wastewater treatment. Or a High School degree or GED and at least 5 years experience in a supervisory capacity in the wastewater treatment field. Possession of NJDEP S-1 or higher wastewater operator license preferred. Must be familiar with federal, state & local regulations pertaining to the wastewater treatment field. Must be experienced with start-up of new equipment and wastewater treatment processes. Also experienced with construction projects at a wastewater treatment plant. Must have knowledge of managerial and administrative practices and procedures in a wastewater treatment plant. Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate large construction projects in the wastewater treatment field. Must be able to interface with engineers, contractors, attorneys, and all levels of white collar and blue collar staff. 11/15/2018 Wastewater Operator Immediate multiple openings. Minimum 3 years full time experience as a Wastewater Operator. HS or GED and valid drivers license required. S-1 license preferred. Must be able to work any shift and perform physically demanding duties in all types of weather.
09/01/2018 Operator in Training (OIT) The Operator in Training Program (OIT) is an entry level position which provides 11 months of paid hands on training as well as classroom training. Upon successful conclusion of the training, the Operator will be placed on to a permanent schedule which would include weekends and evening rotation. Candidates must be 18 years old, have a HS Degree or GED, Valid drivers license, good work history. Candidates selected can expect placement in July 2019.
