08/14/2022 Electrician Under the direction of the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of electrical and/or electronic operating and control systems, equipment and fixtures, including instrumentation and heating and cooling systems. Some overtime and on­ call may be required. The successful applicant should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements. • Inspects and tests electrical equipment, signal, and communication and power circuits. • Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances • Using hand tools and testing instruments. • Isolates defects in wiring switches, motors, and other electrical equipment. • Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other simple elements of electrical systems. • Add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. • Comply with all safety regulations • Communicate effectively orally and in writing • Mounts motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position. • Reads diagram specifications related to the task. • Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts, such as gears, brushes and armatures.
08/19/2022 Lab Technician Under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, performs a variety of laboratory tests and analysis utilizing certified methodology. Records generated data in appropriate locations and provides basic interpretation of such, referring problems and unusual cases to the supervisor. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or a related field is required. Two years laboratory experience and/or industrial experience, preferably in the wastewater treatment field. Valid New Jersey driver’s license. Proficient with both Microsoft Word and Excel. 06/29/2022 Collections Operator The Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties (www.jmeuc.com), located in Elizabeth New Jersey, is seeking a Wastewater Collection System Operator who, along with other team members, will be responsible for performing various Collection System operation and maintenance tasks for both in house and in the field. The team is responsible for the entire 43 miles of Joint Meeting original trunk and supplementary sanitary sewer lines within the tributary municipalities serviced by the Joint Meeting. The following is required: • A High School degree or equivalency. • A Valid driver’s license with no serious recent violations. • A C-1 License or the ability to obtain said license within 2 years of appointment. • A minimum of 2 years of direct experience performing duties related to Collection System Operation & Maintenance. 02/01/2022 Purchasing & Procurement Officer Purchasing and Procurement Officer Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties, a Wastewater Treatment facility, is seeking an individual who will be responsible for the management and control of all purchasing procedures. This involves the procurement of equipment, materials, supplies and services for the Joint Meeting. The Purchasing and Procurement Officer will maintain records in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Joint Meeting and the New Jersey Public Contracts Law. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting the Purchasing Agent overseeing public advertising, receiving bids and requests for proposals and awarding of contracts. Reviews requisitions, locates reputable sources of supply, prepares bid specs and reviews bids. Extensive vendor interaction. This position will be under the direction of the Director of Finance and will assist with the daily operations of the office and the supervision of staff. Candidates should be familiar with Edmunds Financial Accounting System or a large scale Windows based purchase order accounting system and experienced with the purchasing of equipment, materials and supplies on a large scales. Candidate must have effective planning, organizational and communications skills. The successful candidate will possess a QPA certification issued by the NJ Division of Local Government Services and five (5) years of experience working in a public purchasing department or performing purchasing functions in an executive capacity as a Purchasing Officer. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. 2/1/2022 Operations Shift Supervisor Wastewater Treatment Facility in Northern NJ is seeking an individual who will supervise and coordinate the activities of the plant operators during the assigned rotating shift. Also responsible for monitoring the plant operation and process. Summary of Qualifications: Candidate must possess a High School degree or GED. College degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field preferred. Minimum 3 years experience in a wastewater treatment plant operations department plus 3 years supervisory experience. Satisfactory completion of NJDEP certified basic and advanced wastewater operations courses required. Possession and maintaining of a minimum of an S-1 license required or ability to obtain same within one year from the date of hire. Applicant shall have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to all levels of employees. 4/1/2022 Maintenance Mechanic Working under the direction of the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all the Joint Meeting’s machinery, control equipment and vehicles, with extremely limited supervision. Persons filling this position are assumed to be proficient in the positions, duties and responsibilities and to be developing or refining individual skill sets in anticipation of potential upward career mobility as a Supervisor should position vacancies develop. • High school diploma, GED certification • Completion of a course of study at a Technical School resulting in certification in applicable Mechanical Maintenance knowledge skills and abilities. • A valid driver's license is required. • Minimum of five years of experience on pumps and/or related machinery and equipment commonly used in the wastewater treatment industry. Salary range $30.00 to $38.00 per hour Position is represented by Teamsters Local 641.
